Abstract In order to establish a technique to control the growth of grafted bitter gourd seedlings,this paper took‘Biyue’bitter gourd and bottle gourd rootstock‘Shuangyi’as material,studied the effects of 3 plant growth regulators as DHFe,DPC,FeO on the biological characters and chlorophyll contents of rootstock and grafted bitter gourd seedlings.Soaking rootstock seed with plant growth retardant and comprehensively evaluated the effects on the quality of rootstock and grafted bitter gourd seedling by the method of membership function.The results indicated that there were significantly different effects on biological characters of rootstock and grafted bitter gourd seedlings by different treatments. Using method of membership function,we found rootstock seed treated with 0.12 mg·L-1 DHFe had better control effect on rootstock seedlings and 0.07 mg·L-1 DHFe had high quality in grafted bitter gourd seedlings.In conclusion,treating 0.07-0.12 mg·L-1 DHFe could effectivly improve the quality of both rootstock and grafted bitter gourd seedlings.
