Abstract Two samples of turnip mosaic virus,which infected cabbage and turnip in Beijing,were named TuMV-BJ1 and TuMV-BJ2,respectively. The CP genes of TuMV-BJ1 and TuMV-BJ2 were sequenced after being cloned into pMD18-T Vector,and were compared with the CP gene sequences of TuMV reported in GenBank. The results showed that the CP genes of TuMV-BJ1 and TuMV-BJ2 were all 867 nucleotides and coded 288 amino acids in length,and nucleotids homology was 97.2 % and amino acids homology was 97.6 %.
