Abstract ‘Beixing No.8’is a new middle mature sweet pepper F1 hybrid developed by crossing two inbred lines,middle mature sweet pepper P89-3812 and middle-early mature sweet pepper P89-3885.Its fruit is square lantern-shape with length of 12-14 cm,shoulder diameter of 10-12 cm and flesh thickness of 0.68 cm.Its average fruit weight is about 220 g.Fruit skin is green and smooth.It has stronger resistance to virus,anthracnose and phytophthora blight than‘Qiemenjiao’.It is suitable for fresh eating and dehydration.Its yield is above 75 t·hm-2 in open field.It is suitable to be cultivated in Inner Mongolian,Ningxia Autonomous Regions and Gansu,Shanxi Provinces etc.
