    Artificial freezing identification, clustering analysis combined with natural frosting identification in field were adopted to review the freezing tolerance and type of freezing tolerance of clone material from S.acaule offspring. Among 25 progenies of S.acaule, before cold acclimation, 11 were sensitive to frost and freezing, 12 were tolerant and 2 were strong tolerant. But after cold acclimation, the progenies sensitive to the freezing declined to 3, while the tolerant and strong tolerant increased to 12 and 10, respectively. The LT50 of the experimental genotypes before and after cold acclimation, the cold aclimation ability were extremely significantly related to the field freezing rating score. The correlation coefficient were 0.50, 0.91 and -0.55, respectively. Therefore, it is concluded that the artificial freezing results could be used to forecast the freeze tolerance in field in potato production.

    Antifungal γ-thionin gene THI which had been cloned from Triticum aestivum and driven by green specific promoter (PNZIP) was transferred into muskmelon by Agrobacterium tumefaciens. Transgenic melon lines carried with both γ-THI gene and npt-Ⅱ gene were assessed by PCR and Northern blotting. The reslults showed that the foreign genes were proved to be transferred into the genome of muskmelon and expressed in leaf tissue of the transgenic plants.

    Effects of 5 thermal conservation materials in the small plastic shed under 4 different climate conditions: snowing, overcast, sunny and cloudy were studied. The results indicated that the different thermal conservation materials have remarkable effects on the temperature in the small plastic shed. Compared with other treatments, the non-woven fabrics with film, type of the 40 g•m-2 had the best effect in maintaining inner temperature, and the CK (PVC) had the worst. Compared with air temperature, soil temperature changed more slowly during one day. The deeper soil layer, the slower soil temperature changed, but in the shallow soil layer, the sharper temperature changed. Soil temperature changed slowly along with the increasing of soil depth. The time for the highest temperature appearance in various soil layers will delay along the increase of soil depth.

    The seeds of ‘Chongqingerca’ and ‘Zifeng No.1’ were treated for 20 days at 4℃ to complete their vernalization process, then different concentrations of gibberellin (300, 400, 500 and 600 mg•L-1) were sprayed on their apical meristem after the two pairs of euphylla were fully expanded in every four days until they were bolting. The results showed that the best concentration was 500 mg•L-1 GA3.If using abscisic acid of 50 mg•L-1 one day before treating with giberellin, the sensitivity of mustard plants to giberellin were enhanced and the best concentration of promoting the bolting of mustard was reduced to 400 mg•L-1, but it was more significant in ‘Chongqingercai’ than in ‘Zifeng No.1’ while using abscisic acid to enhance the sensitivity of plant to gibberellin.

    In this paper, the chemical components of pepper, tomato, cucumber, eggplant, cabbage and celery stumps were tested.The results showed that in vegetable stumps the moisture content was 73.77 %-91.91 %, dry mater contents of major elements (N, P and K) were 31.7-85.7 g•kg-1, the content of micro and middle elements (Ca, Mg, Fe, B and Zn) were 16.2-87.1 g•kg-1, the content of organic mater was 428.4-674.3 g•kg-1, among which the major elements were fibrin and lignin, the C/N ratios was 7.0-21.3.

    Through inoculating larva into the sterilized soil with Meloidogyne incognita, this paper observes infection and resistance to root-knot nematodes of different rootstocks and self-root after grafting. The results indicate: after grafting with ‘Caihong101’, the plant trunk has stronger resistance to root-knot nematodes and even reach the degree of immunity. No root knots were found in the other two rootstocks. But the grafted self-root system was infected by root-knot nematodes and a huge cell was formed around the worm. The inoculated root-knot nematodes stimulated the harmonious responses of the protective enzymes, the activity of the protective enzymes were higher in the two rootstocks which have better resistance to root-knot nematodes.

    Four isolates of fungi, Acremonium sp., Alternaria sp., Cladosporium sp., Fusarium sp. have been isolated from the seeds and tissues of de-igmented dry hot pepper by tissue isolation. Stabbing the above entioned 4 fungi onto the rubescent and healthy fruit of hot pepper in greenhouse, Acremonium sp. companied with Fusarium sp. are discovered to make haematochrome loss.

    ‘Heichanglong’is a F1 hybrid from the inbred line S25-1-30 and S90-2-6B,it is early maturity.Its characteristics include strong growth vigor,with half open plant type,with strong fruit setting ability,fruit of long stripe shape with black purple and shining peel,31-34 cm fruit length,3.4-3.8 cm fruit diameter and 100 g of average fruit weight.The output of spring cultivation is about 60 t•hm-2,and it is suitable for cultivation in greenhouse or open field in spring,and also in open field in autumn.

    ‘Xinxiang’is bred by female parent‘Jinyu’crossed with male parent‘Zheshu No.2’,by manual hybridization and fast multi-fields identification.It has characterization with purple red skin and yellow flesh,long spindle type,nice figure,early maturity and good quality.After 70 days growth,it could be harvested.Its flesh has powder sense and sweet taste,fine and delicate texture,thin husk,and fine flavor.Its yield is 30 t•hm-2,with 32.71 % dying rate,22.10 % amylum content,and is resistant to stem rot.It is suitable to be cultivated in regions of the Yangtze River vally,North of Jiangsu province and south of Shandong province.

    ‘JinXihulu No.6’is a new summer squash F1 hybrid developed by crossing 2 inbred lines 96012-3(female)and H2013-5(male).It grows vigorously with early maturity.The first female flower starts from node 6-7.The plant has stout stems and fat leaves.The ripe fruit is cylindrical,about 23 cm in length and with glossy light green skin.Deformed fruit is rarely seen.The new hybrid has stronger resistance to virus and powdery mildew than‘Zaoqingyidai’.Its average fruit weight is about 200-250 g and the yield is about 75 t•hm-2.
