Artificial freezing identification, clustering analysis combined with natural frosting identification in field were adopted to review the freezing tolerance and type of freezing tolerance of clone material from S.acaule offspring. Among 25 progenies of S.acaule, before cold acclimation, 11 were sensitive to frost and freezing, 12 were tolerant and 2 were strong tolerant. But after cold acclimation, the progenies sensitive to the freezing declined to 3, while the tolerant and strong tolerant increased to 12 and 10, respectively. The LT50 of the experimental genotypes before and after cold acclimation, the cold aclimation ability were extremely significantly related to the field freezing rating score. The correlation coefficient were 0.50, 0.91 and -0.55, respectively. Therefore, it is concluded that the artificial freezing results could be used to forecast the freeze tolerance in field in potato production.
Antifungal γ-thionin gene THI which had been cloned from Triticum aestivum and driven by green specific promoter (PNZIP) was transferred into muskmelon by Agrobacterium tumefaciens. Transgenic melon lines carried with both γ-THI gene and npt-Ⅱ gene were assessed by PCR and Northern blotting. The reslults showed that the foreign genes were proved to be transferred into the genome of muskmelon and expressed in leaf tissue of the transgenic plants.
‘Heichanglong’is a F1 hybrid from the inbred line S25-1-30 and S90-2-6B,it is early maturity.Its characteristics include strong growth vigor,with half open plant type,with strong fruit setting ability,fruit of long stripe shape with black purple and shining peel,31-34 cm fruit length,3.4-3.8 cm fruit diameter and 100 g of average fruit weight.The output of spring cultivation is about 60 t8226;hm-2,and it is suitable for cultivation in greenhouse or open field in spring,and also in open field in autumn.
