It showed that six quality characters among different varieties with same bulb color or different bulb color were different. White bulb s tightness and dry weight,soluble solid,soluble sugar and pyruvic acid content were higher than those of other bulb color varieties. Leek 49 cultivars or crossing combinations were used for conducting the correlation and path analysis of six main characters which form the individual production of leek. The result showed that the leek yield per plant had very significant positive relationship with sheath thickness,and blade length,plant height and blade number of leek. 7 Effects of Application of Zeolite on Tomato Seedling Growth

The effects on the growth of tomato seedlings were studied by adding zeolite to growing miedia(turf ∶vermiculite= 2∶1)( V/V ).The results indicated that stem diameter,leaf area,total dry weight and seedling index among all treatments increased with the content of zeolite increasing.And photosynthetic pigment contents,photosynthetic parameters and root growth were influenced at different degree.

9 Preliminary Results on Interspecific Hybrid Embryos Culture in Vitro between B.campestris L.ssp. pekinensis and B. oleracea var. acephala

Interspecific hybrids from CMS B.campestris L.ssp. pekinensis × B.napus were obtained.Interspecific cross compatibility between the CMS hybrid and B. oleracea var. acephala were only 0.001. After pollination,young 14 days embryos between the CMS hybrid and B. oleracea var. acephala grew plantlets on MS+BA 2 mg·L -1+NAA 0.05 mg·L -1+Sucrose 30 g·L -1.

12 Primary Evaluation of the Resistance of Brassica campestris L.ssp. chinensis Germplasm Resource to Diamondback Moth

An identification of 90 accessions of Brassica campestris L.ssp. chinensis germplasm resources from the National Medium Term Bank was conducted in greenhouse. The results showed that the infested index of the 90 accessions was significantly different. The resistance could be divided into 6 groups,high resistance,resistance,medium resistance,medium susceptible,susceptible and high susceptible,among which 4 accessions were high resistance.

14 Changing Trend of Soil Salt and Nutrient Content in Greenhouse

With the research on the soil in greenhouse with different planting years,the results showed that the soil soluble salt,available nutrient content and electrical conductivity increased with the prolonged period of planting,while the soil pH droped,the soil organic matter content did not go up much ,nitrate nitrogen in available nutrient was high,the available phosphorus in the soil was abundant. At the end,the measures on the improvement of soil fertility and management were recommended.

17 Improvement of Heat Tolerant and Long-shelf Life Tomato

Winter tomato varieties were improved by using variety Lima as a male parent to cross to some recurrent winter tomato varieties 413,452,499,514 and 560. Progenies of the hybrids were selected by pedigree method. The inbred lines of the crosses showed 12 %-32 % higher yield than control varieties VF134-1-2 and Lima.The inbred line from crossed 452×351 showed the highest yield,44.29 t·hm -2 and while varieties Lima and VF134-1-2 showed 33.29 and 33.66 t·hm -2,respectively. Zajiao Aiqiqing is a new pakchoi ( B.c. ssp.L. chinensis )F_ 1 hybrid developed from TPS male sterile line. It has characteristics of vigorous growth,high uniformity,beautiful shape,good quality,heat tolerance.Average plant is 15-18 cm in height,about 25 cm in width and 400-500 g in weight at autumn and winter harvest season.The average yield is about 52.5 t·hm -2.It is suitable for growing in the area of Yangzi River.

The fruit is ox-horn shaped,15.5 cm in length,3.4 cm in width,43 g in weight with light pungent and sweet,and the flesh thickness is 0.35 cm.First harvest occurs 44 days after transplanting.The average yield is 55.5-67.5 t·hm -2.It is resistant to physiology blight,virus and anthracnose.
