4 Chemical Identification of Gynoecious and Androecious Cucumber at Seedling Stage
Chen Xuehao;Chen Yanping;Cao Beisheng;et al.
Identification of gynoecious and androecious cucumber was conducted by using three chemical methods named BTB,NADH and TTC at seedling stage of cucumber. The results showed that the time of color altering of gynoecious cucumber extraction after adding into BTB was earlier than that of androecious cucumber extraction. The greatest difference of absorbed volume under 630nm existed between two types of cucumber within 5 hours after reaction with BTB. That is the right time to identify gynoecous and andro...

7 Breeding and Utilization of Chinese Onion Male-sterile 244A
Tong Chengfu;Tang Chengying;Cui Lianwei;et al.
Male-sterile plants were found in the seed field of Donglingbai Chinese onion. Six plants were selected and pollinated openly in the same year. At last three plants were harvested and their seeds were sown in three lines separately. In the second year, the plants from a line with high male-sterile rate made a one by one hybridization with the original mass. At the same time, male parent self-pollinated. According to the result for four generation s selection. male-sterile plant No.025 was selected at last ...

9 The Study of Substrate with Mycorrhiza on Cucumber Seedling
Lu Guiyun;Chen Guilin;Qi Guohui
The substrate treatments were the mixture of soil/sand (1∶0,1∶2,1∶4) and vermiculite. Cucumber seeds were sown with Glomus versiforme and CK. The results showed the infectionrates of GV were 48.48%-56.15% in mixture of siol and sand, was 37.82% in vermiculite. The most significant beneficial effects of GV are in substrate treatment No.2 (soil/sand=1∶2),which increased leaf area, dry weight and index of health seedling up to 44.09%,36.46% and 83.62% as compared with CK respectively. Therefore substrate treatm...

12 The Controlling Effects of Emulsion of Stemona, Chinaberry alkali and Tobacco alkali on Myzus persicae and Their Residual Test in Lettuce
Gaoliang
A botanical insecticide is made from stemona, Chinaberry and tobacco. The controlling effects of 1.1% emulsion diluted with 1500, 3000 and 6000 water on Myzus persicae were: indoors, 91.6%~99.6% after spraying 1,3 and 5 days; in the fields, the effects of it diluted with 800 and 1000 water were 90.6%~98.0% after spraying above same days. They were equal to or better than the results of 50% kangyawei wettable powder diluted with 2500 water. The residue of this insecticide disappeared quickly in the lettuce l...

15 Influences of Low Temperature and Poor Light on Grwoth and Photosynthesis of Tomato Seedling
Huang Wei;Ren Huazhong;Zhang Fuman
Influences of low temperature and poor light on growth and photosynthesis of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) seedling were studied in phytotron. Results showed that the increment of stem length, leaf expanding and net photosynthesis rate were reduced under the stress of low temperautre and poor light, but root vigor was not significantly influenced by the stress. The influence of low temperature was more significant than poor light stress. The responses were different between varieties.

18 Effects of IOA and R-6G on Mitochondria Inactivation of Cotyledon Protoplast of Non-heading Chinese Cabbage
Hou Xilin;Cao Shouchun;She Jianming;et al.
The report studied the effects of IOA and R-6G on mitochondria inactivation of cotyledon protoplast of non-heading Chinese cabbage 91 HQiu -21 (Aijiaohuang). The results were as follows:0.5mmol·L -1 IOA could reduce the plating efficiency from 15.0% to 6.6% at 25℃ for 20min. While 1.0mmol·L -1 IOA would make all protoplasts inactivated at 25℃ for 10min. 40μg·mL -1 R-6G can effectively inhibit the protoplast division and calli formation at 25℃ for 30min,so inactivated mitochondria with R-6G eases th...
