    Eggplant anthers were cultured under low temperature stress for induction of chilling tolerance using 6 varieties of eggplant as experimental materials. The results showed that chilling tolerant anther callus can be induced at 5-6℃,the differentiation frequency of chilling tolerant callus was 31.6% on MS+NAA (0.02mg·L -1 )+ZT (1.0mg·L -1 ) medium,the injury rate of regenerated plants from chilling tolerant callus was much lower than that of control varieties under low temperature stress.

    Cinnamic acid was applied in the fifth continuous cropping cucumber soil as root exudates.The results showed that cucumber growth,activity of root dehydrogenase,ATPase,soil microorganisms and nutrient uptake had been inhibited when cinnamic acid application was more than 50 mg·kg -1 soil.And the inhibition at a higher concentration was stronger than those at lower one.So the auto toxic effect of cinnamic acid was one of the factors of continuous cropping barrier in cucumber growth.

    In 1997~1999,162 pepper samples with typical virus symptoms collected from fields in Chongqing were identified by the diagnostic hosts,stability tests and indirect ELISA. The result showed that the pepper virus diseases were mainly caused by complex infection of TMV and CMV. The infecting percentage of CMV and TMV were 79.0% and 54.2% respectively. CMV and TMV are the predominant causal viruses of pepper crop in Chongqing area. TMV infected pepper indepedently with 7.5% and CMV with 32.3%.

    The effects of various nutrient levels on photosynthetic properties of Wasabia ( Wasabia japonica Matsum) seedling were studied. The results showed that increase of nutrient levels could raise the accumulation of assimilation product obviously at later stage of growth.     The result of base line survey conducted in six vegetable production sites in shenzhen showed that the content of nitrate in flowering chinese cabbage ( Brassica Campestris L. ssp Chinensis Var.     The new F 1 hybrid Jin Ruobo No.3 is a type of spring radish,developed from male sterile line. It has characteristics of fast growing,good market quality,high winterness and anti spongy. It’s root is cylinder with red and smooth skin. Average root weight is 120g. The yield reached 37.5t·hm -2 . It takes 50 days to harvest from sowing and is suitable for growing in Shanxi and other provinces nearby.

    Lubaoshi’is a new summer squash F 1 hybrid developed by crossing mosaic leaf summer squash inbred line 94011 as female parent with dark green skin summer squash inbred line 94001 as male parent. It has vigorous plants,and long rhabdoid fruits with dark green skin. Its yield under protected cultivation is about 75t·hm -2 and is 14.5%~28.3% higher than that of ‘Zaoqingyidai’. It has been extended to Beijing,Liaoning,Shandong,Ningxia,Jiangshu etc..
