  The effects of waterlogging stress on plant growth,activities of SOD,POD,CAT,ASA content and MDA content were studied in flowering Chinese cabbage ( Brassica campestris L. ssp. Chinensis var. utilis Tsen et Lee). The results indicated that catalase (CAT) activity of leaves and roots,and peroxidase (POD) activity of leaves increased gradually in 4 days of waterlogging stress,but at 4th day they began to decrease sharply,and they rised again after 6 days of waterlogging stress.   The study on the effect of mixed growing media with different ratio of coir dust to vermiculite on potted cucumber seedling growth was carried out. The results showed the mixed media had better physical and chemical properties than pure vermiculite or coir dust,total porosity ranged from 81.42%～85.25%,maximum water holding capacities ranged from 157.24%～398.90%.   Mulching with straw in ginger field could make ginger leaves thicker,content of chlorophyll lower than those of shaded ginger,and increased the ability of adapting strong light. Though the leaves of ginger in naked field also changed,the photosynthetic rate was lower than that in mulching and shading field,because ginger in naked field was subjected to serious stress. The photosynthetic rate and its diurnal changes were almost the same under both mulching and shading conditions.

  The yield loss (Y) attributed to Liriomyza sativae in cowpea was tested. The results showed that the yield loss increased with the number (X) of worm eaten path. The regression equation was:Y= -76.101 +3.469X. According to the present price of cowpea,the cost and effect of control,the economic threshold,for controlling of Liriomyza sativae was 30.35 worm eaten path per leaf.

  Jinyou No.3 is a cucumber hybrid with early maturity,high resistance to chilling and low light intensity,resistance to downy mildew,powdery mildew and Fusarium wilt . It is suitable for protected cultivation in Huabei district. Its plant grows vigorously,and its yield is about 90t·hm -2 . Average fruit is about 28cm length and 130g weight. Fruits are dark green,sweet and crispy,with white spine and have good quality and high marketable percentage.

  Yufanqie No.6 is a new early maturity F 1 hybrid developed by crossing 47 as a female parent with 87 4 3 as a male parent. The variety is resistant to TMV and middle resistant to CMV. The high quality fruit with soluble solids content of 5.22% is pink and,resistant to crack. Average yield is 90～130t·hm -2 . It is suitable for cultivation in Henan,Hebei,Hubei,Heilongjiang and so on.
