  The fractions and percentages of inorganic P,organic P and OlsenP in vegetable soils under plastic greenhouse and solar greenhouse conditions were analysed in suburban district of Beijing. The results indicated that the enrichment of phosphorus in the vegetable soils was rapid under the level of fertilization in Beijing.   Flower organs of Pol cms nonheading Chinese cabbage became smaller with the increase of sterility. Stamen length and the ratio of the length of stamen to pistil length showed significant negative correlation with sterility. Most of the temperatureinduced pollens were viable. Highly male sterile plants produced low pollen quantity,low percentage of viable pollen,delay of pollen,release or without pollen release.

  Inheritance of resistance to anthracnose in three crosses of snapbean was investigated. Results show that in all crosses the resistance was controlled by dominant genes. Data in two crosses support the hypothesis that a single dominant gene controls the resistance. However,the cross involved in Chinese local cultivar showed a complicated inheritance and further research is required.

  Effect of different ethylene concentrations and applying times on cucumber Zhongnong No.8 was studied. The results indicated that using 100 LL-1 ethylene one or two times on Zhongnong No.8 could raise its early yield efficiently without bad effect on plant growth and fruits. High concentrations or more application times would lead to empty nodes,low female flower rate,high first female flower node and late blooming date,which were harmful to both early and total yield as well as to fruits.

  北星３号的母本为当地甜椒品种永久的自然变异单株经系统选择而获得的稳定自交系，父本是由美国杂交种经多代自交系统选择而获得的稳定自交系。该品种生长旺盛，连续结果性强，果实方灯笼形，果面光滑，绿色，味甜，商品性好；中早熟，从定植到始收４５ｄ（天）左右，较抗病毒病，适宜保护地栽培，每６６７ｍ２产量５５００ｋｇ左右。北星７号的父母本均是由欧洲杂交种经自交多代系统选择而获得的稳定自交系。该品种生长势强，果实长灯笼形，深绿色，肉厚，味甜，品质好，耐贮运，中晚熟，抗病毒病，每６６７ｍ２产量４５００ｋｇ左右。
