Effect of Shade on Growth and Yield of Ginger
Wang Shaohui;Zhang Zhenxian
Effect of different ways of shade on growth of ginger were conducted. The result indicated that mulch with wheat straw increased the yield of ginger significantly,larger leaf area,more and stronger branches were obtained. It was suggested to populize mulching straw in ginger production.

Regulation of External Homone on Common Bean ( Phaseolus vulgaris L.) Leaf Water under the High Temperature Stress
Shang Qingmao;Qiao Xiaojun
This paper studied the effects of different external homone (GA 3 and 6-BA) on the regulation of leaf water and alleviatation of high temperature injury degree of common bean ( Phaseolus vulgaris L.) under high temperature condition. The results showed that,in a short period,the intercellular air spaces increased,leaf temperature became lower and cell membrane injury was alleviated in leaves,however,both external hormone treatment had less effects on leaf diffusion resistance.

Studies on the Flowering Habits and the Factors Affecting Pollen Germination in Balsam Pear.

The flowering habits,pollen germination and pollen storage of palsam pear ( Momordica charantial L. ) were investigated. Female flower opened from 2∶00a.m. through 6∶00a.m. and male flower from 2∶00 a.m. through 7∶00a.m.. The optimum conditions for pollen germination was liquid medium with 10% Sucrose and 0.01% Borie acid under 30℃ for 3 hours. Under 0℃,the pollens had been survived for 36 hours,But only 18.4% pollen germinated under 40℃ for 4 hours. More than 80% of pollens from the opened flowers (5...

Toxicity Experiments of Tea Saponin Mixed with Dimethoate against Lipaphis erysimi

Toxicity of tea saponin,dimethoate and mixture of the two compounds at different concentrations on turnip aphid Lipaphis erysimi was examined. Results showed that tea saponin itself had low toxicity on turnip aphid,but it could significantly increase the effect of demethoate. Mortality of aphid treated with dimethoate solutions containing tea saponin was higher than that of dimethoate solutions at the same concentrations. Efficacy of Insecticides to Control Plutella xylostella
Lin Wencai;Guo Shijian
Laboratory and field trials were conducted to evaluate the efficacy of 19 insecticides,belonging to organophosphorus,synthetic pyrethroid,carbamate,insect growth regulators,antibiotic etc. ,to control Plutella xylostella . The results showed that 14 commonly used insecticides were generally incapable of controlling P. xylostella in Hangzhou China. Avermectin,fipronil,chlorfenappyr,Bt and diafenthiuron were most effective to control P. xylostella.
