By improving on cultivated measures of cucumber grown in lean to solar greenhouse,the yield of cucumber has been increased greatly. In order to find out the reasons of increasement in cucumber yield,the photosynthetic characteristic of leaves from the plant were studied by using high yield cucumber as treatment and general yield as CK. The Study on Nutrient Absorption of Cucumber in Chinese Lean to Solar Greenhouse

The experiment on nutrient absorption of cucumber in Chinese lean to solar greenhouse was conducted. The results showed that the dry matter and NPK accumulation of cucumber were “S” curve. The largest absorption stage of three essential elements was at full fruit period and over 80% of the total absorption. The 0.2002kg N,0.0921kg P 2O 5 and 0.2322kg K 2O were absorbed in production of 100kg fruit. Their proportion was 1∶0.46∶1.16. The NPK absorption rate was N 2850-4050,P 2O 5 1155-2025,K 2O 2985-47...

Studies on Characteristic of NPK Absorption by Asparagus Bean 〔 Vigna unguiculata W. ssp. sesquipedalis ( L.) Verd.〕

The characteristics of NPK absorption by vien asparagus bean (VAB) 〔cv. Jinsui white pod (WB),Xingqing green pod (GB)〕 and dwarf asparagus bean (DAB) were studied. The results showed that the absorbed amount was N>K>P in both VAB and DAB. The ratio of N∶P 2O 5∶K 2O was 2.75-2.92∶1∶2.15-2.75 in VAB,and 4.49∶1∶4.21 in DAB. Study on Antifeeding Effects of 9 Asteraceae Plants against Three Pests

The antifeeding effects of 9 Asteraceae plants against three pests were determined. The results indicated that these plants had different antifeeding effects on pests. The antifeeding rate of 1% extract from Synedrella nodiflona,Wedelia chinensis and Ageratum conyzoides were more then 80% at 24h and 48h after feeding Pitris rapae. A New Pepper F 1 Hybrid — ‘Xiangyan No.16’
Zou Xuexiao;Zhou Qunchu;Dai Xiongze;et al.
Xiangyan No.16 is a new F 1 hybrid developed by crossing inbred line 5904 from a landrace in Hunan province and inbred line 8216 from Hexiniujiao in Changsha. It is late maturity,good resistance to diseases and gets harvest in 55 days after transplanting,with long fruit,thick wall,good storage characteristic and 45g per fruit. Its yield is 51.2t·hm -2 generally which is 15% higher than that of CK.

Breeding of a New Tomato F 1 Hybrid — Yangfen 931

Yangfen 931 is a new F 1 hybrid,both parent lines were selected from different crosses. It is suitable to grow in protected cultivation,and this determinate variety is early maturity,resistant to TMV and mi ddle resistant to CMV,parthenocarpy under low temperature,the high quality of pink fruit with soluble soilds content over 4.5%. The average yield is over 60t·hm -2 . The total cultural area is around 200hm 2 only in Jiangsu.

A New Eggplant F 1 Hybrid — ‘Yuefengzihongqie’
Luo Shaobo;Zheng Xiaoming;Luo Jianning;et al.
Yuefengzihongqie’ is a new eggpalnt F 1 hybrid developed by crossing ‘Dongxuan D 2 1 0’ with ‘Shuangxuan S 1 1 0’. It is 7-10 days earlier in maturity and 68.5% higher in early yield and 45.2% higher in total yield than those of ‘Changshenziqie’. The pulp is white with a few seeds. The average fruit weight is 0.2kg with purple and thin peel. And the yield is 37.5t·hm -2 . It is suitable to grow in south China in spring and fall. The total extension area is nearly 2000hm 2 up to 1999.
