Effect of Pyrethroid Insecticide on Four Species of Vegetable Pests
Jiang Xingyin;Wang Kaiyun;Yi Meiqin;et al.
Synergistic alphacypermethrin 5% EC,a nwe type insecticide has low toxicity and high efficiency. It was used together with strong penetrant to control Laphygma exigua through indoor toxicity evaluation and field test,the results showed that the fast and residual effect were better than others tested. It can be used as best insecticide to control Pieris rapae (L.), Plutella xglostella (L.) and vegetable aphids.

Studies on the Susceptibility of Guangzhou Diamondback Moth to Bacillus thuringiensis and Abamectin
Liu Honghai;Huang Zhangxin
Insecticide resistance of Guangzhou detected by the leaf residue bioassay showed that the resistance ratios were 1.44~3.82 folds to different Bt formulations;The resistance ratios of the 3rd and 4th instar larvae were 2.39 and 2.86 folds to Abamectin at LC 50 ,and were 4.24 and 7.11 folds at LC 95 . It was noticed that the slopes of LD P line from the Guangzhou Diamondback Moth population were less than that of LD P line from standard susceptible population. The Effect of K Fertilizer on the Yield,Qualities and Nutrient Uptake of Onion
Guo Xisheng;Liu Caiyu;Wang Wenjun;et al.
The experimental results indicated that the application of K fertilizer increased the onion yield and economic efficiency of production. The VC content of onion increased with the K rate. Although the K could increased the sugar content of onion,it decreased while large rate of K fertilizer applied. The K application promoted the uptake and metabolism by onion.

The Influence of Mulching with Straw on the Field Microclimate and Ginger Growth
Xu Kun
Mulching with straw increased soil water content and air relative humidity,air temperature but decreased soil temperature. Though mulching with straw didn’t change light intensity,ginger growth and yield were the same as shading. The growth and yield of ginger under shading and mulching were both higher than that of naked soil.

Storage of Freeze dried Chinese Cabbage Seeds
Zhang Haiying;Kong Xianghui
This inverstigation aimed to determine whether Freeze dried storage improves the longevity of Chinese cabbage ( Brassica rapa ssp. Chinensis ) seed. By using Freeze drier to treat seed for 1 day and 2 days,the seed water content was 2.9% and 1.9%,respectively. After stored at 20℃ for 94 months,ssed germination remains as high as initial level. The effect of treat 2 is better than treat 1,the treat of Freeze dried is better than CK(4% Wc%).

Weizao No.1’is a F 1 hybrid developed with inbred 93 A 1 and 92 1. It has early maturity,resistance to disease,good quality,high yield. It needs only 45 50 days to havest the fruits. The compact plants bear white skin fruits. The average yield is about 60~70t·hm -2 . This variety is suitable for protected cultivation.

A New Early Eggplant ‘Yuzaoqie No.1’
Tian Shibing;Chai Yong;Yang Zhongxiang;et al.
Yuzaoqie No.1’ is a new early hybrid. It shows advantages in early maturity,adaptability to lesser light and coldness. The fruit is short cylinder with purple lustre. Average fruit weight is about 115g. Total yield is 32.37t·hm -2 . It is suitable to culture under protection. It has higher early yield than ‘San Yeqie’.

A New Eggplant F 1 Hybrid — ‘Mengqie No.3’
Yang Maosen;Ma Ruilin;Li Xiuying
Mengqie No.3’is a F 1 hybrid of crossing two inbred lines,H 2 1 1 and A 1 1 1. It is cha racterized by vigorous growth,fine,early maturity,high yield and resistance to disease. It was 6 days earlier than‘Haiziqie’. It is 29.3% higher in early yield and 21.0% higher in total yield than that of the popular cultivar. The average yield is about 67.5t·hm -2 . The hybrid is well suitable for open culture and early culture of protected fields in north China.
