5 Study on Age of Tomato Seedlings Growing in Plug

Under the condition of raising seedlings in plugs we sdudied the suitable age of the tomato seedling.Conclusion shows:the old age (60 days) seedling’s quality is worse,and though the early yield is higher,but the total yield lower;the young age (30 days) seedling’s total yield is highest,but the early yield lower;middle age (45 days) seedling’s quality is best and have higher productivity because the early and total yield are higher.

6 The Studies on Germination of Purslane Seeds

The experimental results indicated that there were 5-6 months dormant period for Purslane seeds,the optimum soaking time for Purslane seeds was 9-12h(at 30℃),the suitable germination temperature was 30℃,and the method using 200mg·L -1 GA 3 solution to treat Purslane seeds increased obviously germination percentage,germination vigor and germination index.

7 Effects of PVA Osmotic Priming on Wild Aubergine Varieties for Grafting

Effects of PVA osmotic priming on wild Aubergine varieties for grafting were studied. The results were obtained as follows:1. The optimum concentration of PVA osmotic priming was 1.16%±0.10%,and optimum time was 21.90h±1.79h. 2. Under 1.16% PVA osmotic priming for 21.90h,the seed vigour of various wild Aubergine varieties and different grade of maturity and different number of years of storage were all increased obviously.

8 Study on the CO_2 Concentration Change in Lean to Solar Greenhouse Grown Melon

When sufficient manure and well composted stalks were applicated in lean to solar greenhouse,the CO 2 concentration remained at relatively higher level during early development stages of melon. The CO 2 concentration at 12:00 (noon before vetilation) still kept 1810mg·L -1 at transplant recovering stage,1370mg·L -1 at pollination stage and 1200mg·L -1 at fruit setting stage. Hierarchical cluster analysis was conducted after observation of four nutritional quality characters and 9 agronomic of twenty germplasm of Zizania caduciflora. The cluster analysis can effectively distinguish between single cropping Zizania caduciflora and double cropping Zizania caduciflora. Milong is a new muskmelon F 1 hybrid bred by crossing two inbreed lines —— 9-8 (female) and F-Y115 (male). 9-8 was selected from the progeny of an English green house muskmelon variety Earl’s crossed by an American variety honey dew by repeated pedigree selection. 12 A New Muskmelon Variety — Longtianxueguan

Longtianxueguan is a new muskmelon variety developed by sexual hybridization. It is early maturity,resistant to fusarium wilt of melon and gets harvest in 65 days after sowing,with nearly round fruit,white pericarp,soluble soilds content over 12.58% and 0.55kg per fruit. Heifeng is a new cabbage F 1 hybrid developed by crossing self incompatible line 8110 from jiangsu local variety with self incompatible line 8405 from abroad materials. Its head is oblate shaped,very firm,with short stem,crisp and tender flavor of good quality. Average head weight is 1.0~2.0kg. It is good tolerance to high temperature,high resistance to TuMV,CMV and black rot,and suitable for cultivating in summer and autumn at the area of the Yangtse River.
